The first translations by the team at Refiner were produced back in 1999. In the beginning, we operated as a simple husband and wife team, providing translating and language editing as well as language tuition on a contract-by-contract basis. In 2002, we founded Refiner Translation Bureau and a little over a year later secured a professional relationship with the Translator and Interpreter Training Centre at Tallinn University.
Our work with Tallinn University ultimately introduced us to other colleges and universities teaching translating and interpreting both here in Estonia and abroad. Such a network has contributed enormously to the depth of our competence and professionalism, not to mention adding to the scope and expertise of our team locally and abroad.
Refiner initially translated topics such as business, economics, the arts and humanities, historical research and tourism. These days we have added several other areas to our expertise, as well as improving our quality assurance. Our team now covers an extroadinary breadth of expertise, and is increasingly accustomed to the highest international translating and interpreting standards.
